K'taka: Heavy rains cause roof collapse, 3 killed

Bagalkot, Sep 17: Three people, including two infants of a family were crushed to death and two others were injured when the roof of their house collapsed in due to heavy rains that lashed the town last night.

Police said Ahmed Sab Kaladgi (60) and his two grandsons Tariq (4) and Mohammed (3) were killed and two other family members were seriously injured in the incident. They were admitted to hospital.

Yesterday's heavy rains caused damages to nearly 30 houses. Low lying areas were inundated in the town putting people to hardship.

About 25 sheep perished when lightning struck in Bevinamatti village in the district, officials said.
