Doctor murders his wife

Thane, Sep 17 (UNI) The Bhiwandi Police have registered a complaint agianst an absconding doctor for allegedly killing his 38-year-old wife and later burying her body to destroy the evidence.

A complaint in this regard was lodged by the woman's first husband Tariq Khan recently, who suspected foul play one day after her burial. Following which, the local police exhumed the body of the dead woman and sent it to the J J Hospital in Mumbai for post-mortem on September 11.

Police said the woman, Firoza Khan, was originally married to Khan, a Mumbai-based businessman, in 1985. However, she divorced him and married Dr Niyaz Ansari (48) of Bhiwandi in 2000.

On September 6, Dr Ansari claimed that Firoza died due to a heart attack and buried her body at a mosque in the powerloom town. He also signed and issued a death certificate of his wife, stating that the cause of her death to be heart attack.

In the complaint, Mr Khan further stated that he oftened heard about the quarrel between the couple, but did not pay much heed as it was their personal matter. However, he was shocked when he learnt about Firoza's death.

He also said upon enqiry, it was revealed that no other doctor had cross verified the cause of Firoza's death.

According to J J Hospital's autopsy report, the death of the woman was unnatural. Based on this, the police have booked the doctor, who is at large.

A manhunt has been launched to nab the doctor, police added.
