Bangalore, Sep 17 (UNI) A two-day national seminar to 'critically review' the recommendations on higher education by the National Knowledge Commission (NKC) will be held here from September 19.
Briefing newspersons on the seminar, Bangalore University (BU) Vice Chancellor H A Ranganath said the seminar aimed at creating a public space for critical review of NKC recommendations on higher education as a feed back to the Commission and the Government from various sector in public life.
"As stated by the NKC, higher education has made a significant contribution to the development of economic, socio-cultural and governance fields. In this sense the we feel that higher education has the potential of becoming the catalyst of comprehensive national development provided guided with a proper perspective and means," he said.
Over 70 eminent educationalists and 300 delegates would be participating in the seminar which is being organised jointly by Government of Karnataka and the BU. Visweswaraya Technical University, Belgaum was the main sponsor, Prof Ranganath added.
