Bentley launches two super-luxury cars

Mumbai, Sep 17 (UNI) UK-based luxury car major Bentley Motors today launched its two super-luxury cars in convertible motors' segment in India.

Bentley's two new convertibles -- ''Azure'' priced at Rs 3.80 crore (ex-showroom) and ''Continental GTC'' for Rs 2.10 crore (ex-showroom) -- will be available at its only one show-room in India at New Delhi.

Announcing the launch here today, Company's Regional Sales Manager (Middle East, Africa and India) Ian Hession said, ''We are targeting to sell at least 25 cars every year in the Indian market.'' Bentley, since it first hit the India market in October 2003, has sold more than 40 cars in the super-luxury segment. The company, with its only one manufacturing plant in England which is rolling out about 7000 thousand cars per annum, has a 6-7 per cent car-market potential in South Asia for its brand, Mr Hession added.

Indian partner Exclusive Motors's Managing Director Satya Bagla said, ''We are excited about bringing this international driving experience to the discerning Indian 'convertible' motoring enthusiasts.'' According to the company, Bentley Azure, equipped with V-8 6.75 litre twin turbo-charged engine having torque generating capacity of 875 Nm, is capable to accelerate at the speed from 0-100 Km/hr within 5.6 seconds.

Similarly, 'Continental GTC' is equiped with 6.0 ltr twin-turbo charged engine which propels the car from 0-90 Km/hr within 4.8 seconds.

Both the cars, fitted with electro-hydraulically operated soft-top roof, have elite interior with standard craftmanship, utilizing natural wood veneers and leather hides of finest quality.

The compay is also planning to set up another showroom in Mumbai by the end of 2009.
