Uttarakhand BJP to hold poll for President on Sep 19

Dehradun, Sep 16 (UNI) BJP's Uttarakhand unit will elect its state president and five members of National Council on September 19.

Tirath Singh Rawat, who has been appointed as Returning Officer for the poll, said that nominations would be accepted on Septembner 18, between 1400hrs to 1600 hrs. Security would be conducted from 1600 hrs to 1700 hrs the same day. Nominations could be withdrawn by 1000 hrs on September 19, and polling would be held immediately afterwards, if required. The result would be declared by 1100 hrs that day.

Mr Rawat said that State Council members would be the members of the Election Committee. Name of the Presidential candidates should be proposed by not less than 10 members of election committee jointly and the proposal should come from at least 1/3 of the elected district chiefs.
