Uma Bharti locks up Reliance Fresh in Indore

Indore, Sep16: Bharatiya Janshakti (BJ) President Uma Bharti today led a protest against the opening of Reliance Fresh outlets and locked up the chain's store here.

Ms Bharti reached the Reliance Fresh outlet with a basket of vegetables on her head and put up a lock on the store. Addressing party workers on the occasion, she entry of big companies into retail trade of vegetables and fruits would leave poor families unemployed.

She praised Reliance for enhancing glory of the country and urged it to set up big industries for generating power and producing gas instead of selling vegetables and fruits.

The fiery sanyasin said she had put up a lock at Reliance Fresh store. However, if a Wal-Mart store was opened, she would be the first one to set it on fire. She claimed that today's protest was totally non-violent. Reliance had closed up its stores in view of the protest.
