SSD products in Indian market by 2008
New Delhi, Sept16 : US-based Seagate Technology, world's top maker of hard-disk drives, is all set to foray into the solid state drive (SSD) segment in the country by the end of this financial year.
SSD, a data storage device, uses solid-state memory to store persistent data. With no moving parts, it largely eliminates seek time, latency and other electro-mechanical delays and failures associated with a conventional hard disk drive.
