Allahabad, Sep 16 (UNI) Senior Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) leader Mohan Bhagwat believes poor and misguiding education system was responsible for the negligence of Lord Ram and Ram Sethu.
Cursing the whole education system, Mr Bhagwat said in an inaugmral function at a school here yesterday, ''the ill education system is reponsible for the lack of knowledge, which has led to doubting the existence of Lord Ram.'' Lack of proper guidance has drawn people away from their culture, history and tradition, he noted.
''Education must be a medium through which a person could get closer to his traditions, but persons who have filed the affidavit in the Supreme Court on the issue, seemed to have gone through an ill education system, which led them to challenge the Lord's existence,'' Mr Bhagwat added.
Speaking as a chief guest, former BJP national president Murli Manohar Joshi said ''Central government has committed a crime and people of India would not tolerate this. 'The government is now prevaricating citizens by taking back its affidavit.'' BJP MP Yogi Adityanath had also censured central government for favouring a particular religion here yesterday. He alleged that government was involved in the partition of the country by implementing reports and recommendations of the Sachchar committee.
Mr Adityanath further added that the country was politically independent but needs cultural independence.
