Mr Kumaraswamy refutes Congress charges

Bangalore, Sep 16 (UNI) Karnataka Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy today refuted Congress charges that JD(S)-BJP Coalition government in the State laying foundation stones for various projects with out Administrative approval and proper resource.

Speaking after inaugurating various developmental works in Tavarekere town in Magadi taluk, about 40 km from here, the Chief Minister asserted that the developmental projects were taken up with all commitment and needed resource.

Taking strong exception to Pradesh Congress Committee President Mallikarjuna Kharge's statement that he (Mr Kumaraswamy) had laid foundation stones for various works and developments worth of over Rs 30,000 crore without any formal sanction, Mr Kumaraswamy challenged Congress leaders to prove it. "It is the culture of Congress party to hoodwink the people by rolling out false promises" he alleged.

Referring to recent rain havoc in Bangalore city, Mr Kumaraswamy expressed regrets for the inconvenience caused to the people living in low lying areas.

Stating that "the coalition government was making all efforts to put to an end to the problems by taking up remedial measures to solve it permanently, he alleged that some section of the media was indulged in presenting only one face of the problems and painting the present government black", Mr Kumaraswamy appealed not to misguide the public on the issue.
