Bangalore, Sep16: Karnataka Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy today refuted the charges made by the Congress that the JD(S)-BJP coalition government in the state is laying foundation stone for various projects without administrative approval and proper resource. Speaking after inaugurating various developmental works in Tavarekere town in Magadi taluk, about 40 km from here, the Chief Minister asserted that the developmental projects were taken up with all commitment and resource.
Taking strong exception to Pradesh Congress Committee President Mallikarjuna Kharge's statement that Mr Kumaraswamy had laid foundation stone for projects worth over Rs 30,000 crore without any formal sanction, the Chief Minister challenged the Congress leaders to prove it. ''It is the culture of the Congress party to hoodwink the people by rolling out false promises'' he alleged.
Referring to the recent rain havoc in the city, the Chief Minister expressed regret over the inconvenience caused to the people, living in low lying areas. ''The coalition government was making all efforts to put an end to the problems by taking up remedial measures,'' he said.
Alleging that some section of the media was presenting only one side of the problems and painting the present government black'', Mr Kumaraswamy appealed to them not to misguide the public.
