After
a
long
span
of
80
years,
the
Madhya
Pradesh
government
is
planning
to
publish
a
new
medical
manual
as
part
of
strengthening
health
care
system.
For the first time, the medical manual was published in 1927 by the then Central Province and Berar state. It was published with amendments in 1940 and later it was republished in 1957, a year after Madhya Pradesh came into existence.
''Experts of the Health department and a Jaipur-based research centre had been entrusted with the task of revising the medical manual,'' Health Minister Ajay Vishnoi said.
The manual, which will comprise legal cods, directives and clarifications relating to all areas of health department, will form the basis for the conduct of all employees, the minister said.
Salient features of similar manuals of at least three states would be incorporated so that the new manual of Madhya Pradesh would become a role model, Mr Vishnoi said, adding the new manual would be published very soon in public interest.
