L&T consortium bags Rs 762 cr order from SAIL

its
construction
unit
in
a
consortium
with
Germany's
Outotec
GmbH
has
won
a
Rs
762
crore
sinter
plant
contract
from
Steel
Authority
of
India
Ltd
(SAIL).
The plant, with a capacity of 3.80 million tonnes per annum, will be executed on a turnkey basis at the IISCO Steel Plant (ISP) of SAIL, Burnpur and will be completed in about 30 months.
The order value for the company is Rs 639.99 crore and Euro 22.08 million for Outotec, it said in a statement.
The new sinter plant is a part of SAIL's ambitious programme of expanding its capacity at ISP by 2.5 MTPA crude steel.
Outotec will cover basic engineering, supply of proprietary and special equipment as well as technical services while L&T will look after detail engineering, supply of indigenous mechanical, electrical and instrumentation works and complete site services including civil, structural and erection works.
The company along with Outotec is presently executing a 2.3 MTPA sinter plant on turnkey basis at Tata Steel, Jamshedpur, which is nearing completion.
