India beat Pak in Cricket's first ever " tie " breaker
Durban, Sep 15: India snatched victory from the jaws of defeat as they won the match 3-0 through a bowl-out after the proper match ended in a thrilling tie. After all the adrenaline rush and nerve-wrecking thrill in their Twenty20 encounter at Durban on Friday, both the teams qualified for the Super Eight stage.
Earlier, electing to field, Pakistan dished out a tidy bowling attack to restrict India to a modest total in the battle of the arch-rivals.
The Indians found themselves in complete morass, losing three crucial wickets within five overs. Mohd Asif was India's nemesis as he dismissed four batsmen - Gautam Gambhir (0), Virender Sehwag (5), Yuvraj Singh (1) and Dinesh Karthik (11).
The team, though, found some respite in Robin Uthappa's maiden Twenty20 half-century that set the momentum of the rain-inflicted game. But just after completing his fifty, the batsman lost his wicket to Sohail Tanvir.
