Uttamrao Dhikle elected as NDCC Chairman

Nashik, Sep 14 (UNI) Former MP Uttamrao Dhikle of 'Aapla' panel was elected unopposed as the Chairman of the Nashik District Central Cooperative (NDCC) Bank here today.

Shiv Sena District President Datta Gaikwad was elected unopposed as the Vice-Chairman of the Bank. With this victory, the power has shifted into the hands of the opposition for the first time.

The elections for the Chairman and Vice-Chairman's post were held at the NDCC Bank in Dwarka here. Mr Unmesh Mahajan was the Returning Officer for the elections.

Out of the total 29 directors of the Bank, 8 have been elected unopposed.

Elections for the remaining 21 posts of directors, were held on August 27. In those elections, 'Aapla' panel led by Adv Uttamrao Dhikle had won 7 seats in the district constituency category, whereas the ruling 'Sahkar' panel led by Chairman Adv Manikrao Kokate and MP Devidas Pingle had won one seat, in addition to the 8 seats won before the elections.

In later developments, the opposition had 20 members whereas the ruling combination had 9 seats. Some members of the ruling coalition parted ways with their group and joined hands with the opposition.

The requirement for majority was of 15 seats.
