UPA Govt decision to withdraw affidavit welcomed
Indore, Sep 14 (UNI) Madhya Pradesh Religious Trusts Minister Kamal Patel today welcomed the decision of the UPA Government to withdraw from the Supreme Court its controversial affidavit questioning the historical existence of Lord Rama.
Talking to reporters here today, Mr Patel said it was better late than never for the Congress. UPA chairperson and Congress President Sonia Gandhi had tried to gain public support by intervening but public knew everything, he added.
He alleged that it was a part of vote-bank politics but the Congress would not succeed in its intentions.
Mr Patel said the nationwide 'chakkajam' by the VHP on the issue brought public awareness in this regard.
