TN piles up 397 in first innings

Hyderabad, Sep 14 (UNI) Powered by a century from opener S Anirudha, Tamil Nadu posted 397 for eight in its first innings against Saurashtra in the semi-final of All India Moin-Ud-Dowla Gold Cup cricket tournament here today.

Electing to bat, Tamil Nadu got a good start with openers Anirudha and Vijay Anand piling up 210 in 45 overs.

Anirudha son of former India opener Srikkanth, hit 134 off 148 balls, while Vijay Anand scored 83 off 50 balls. Another impressive contribution came from Vasu Deva Das (85 off 120 balls) Off-spinner Jayesh Shah was the pick of Saurashtra, taking three wickets for 65 runs.

At NFC ground, IOC opting to bat, made 334 for nine wickets in 90 overs, against Madya Pradesh. Harshad Khadiwale scored 80 off 150 balls, while Revankar made 63 off 81 balls and Mandar Phadke scored 61 off 80 balls.

Jalaj Saxena took four wickets for 81 runs for Madhya Pradesh.
