Tight security for Ramzan, Ganesh Chaturthi in AP capital

Hyderabad , Sep 14 (UNI) The city police have made tight security arrangements for Ramzan and Ganesh Chaturthi in the backdrop of recent twin bomb blasts which claimed 43 lives.

Speaking to newsmen here, City Police Commissioner Balwinder Singh said special police and Rapid Action Forces (RAF) were deployed at mosques, temples and churches.

Besides,security has been tightened at all public places, including bus depots and railway stations.

More than 1000 video camares would be set up in the city during Ganesh Idol immersion with some CCTVs being put up at sensitive areas to monitor the movement of anti-social elements during the festival period.

More than 20,000 additional forces were deployed in the capital city who will conduct frisking and vehicle checking round-the-clock.

Special teams have also been constituted to track the movements of some persons who were suspected to have links with the banned organisations.

The recent twin blasts and the May 18 Mecca Masjid blasts have put the police and intelligence agencies on the alert.
