Sethu affidavit: MP Minister targets Centre
Orchha, MP, Sep 14 (UNI) Madhya Pradesh Commercial Tax Minister and former Chief Minister Babulal Gaur today alleged that the Centre's Ram Sethu-related affidavit, submitted in the Supreme Court, is a base attempt to destroy ancient culture and the faith of crores of people.
''The Centre should apologise to the entire country. The protest against the affidavit is not political. A similar attempt was made 150 years back by Lord Macaulay when he presented a report in British Parliament. He said that Indian culture would have to be destroyed if the country had to be enslaved for a long period,'' Mr Gaur said.
The Minister was addressing a ceremony associated with the Ashok Oswal group's Orchha Palace and Convention Centre.
Among those present were Tourism Minister Tukoji Rao Puar, Finance Minister Raghavji, local MP Ramkrishna Kusmariya, MLA Gajendra Singh and Madhya Pradesh Mahila Morcha Vice-President Krishna Gaur.
