Samastipur, Sep 14 (UNI) Member of the central committee of CPI(ML) and national general secretary of Khet Mazdoor Sabha Dhherendra Jha today announced to launch a state-wide agitation to protest the 'deteriorating' law and order situation in Bihar.

Addressing party workers here, Mr Jha alleged that the law and order situation had reached its nadir during the Nitish Kumar regime and people were forced to take the extreme step of lynching criminals due to insensitivity of the police towards checking crimes.

''In the name of good governance, Mr Kumar is misleading the people by stating that his government has succeeded in curbing crime while the situation continued to remain unchanged,'' he added.

''The lynching of ten thieves by irate mob in Vaishali yesterday and torture of a chain snatcher in Bhagalpur recently were enough indications that law and order had deteriorated to an alarming proportion,'' Mr Jha said and urged Mr Kumar to take immediate remedial measures.

The CPI(ML) leader alleged that the NDA government had even failed to provide relief to flood victims and was trading charges against the Union Government. Non distribution of relief material among flood victims had left them at God's mercy, he lamented.
