Mangalore, Sep 14 (UNI) Foreseeing early elections to the state assembly, Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) President Mallikarjuna Kharge today exhorted the partymen to work in unison for the victory of Congress in the September 28 elections to the Local Bodies.
Kick-starting the party's campaign for the polls, he expressed confidence that the Congress party would fare better in local bodies elections as it had won all the previous elections, including the village, taluk and zilla panchayats.
Launching a scathing attack against the JD(S)-BJP coalition government, the Congress leader claimed that the people of the state were fed up with the largescale corruption, incompetence governance and false promises made by the coalition government.
Predicting that the coalition government would collapse even before October 2, Mr Kharge called up on the party workers to get ready to face another round of elections for the state assembly.
Union Minister of State for Labour and Employment Oscar Fernandes, speaking on the occasion said the UPA government at the Centre had taken several measures to generate employment opportunities in the country and initiated steps to upgrade the existing ITI's to enhance skilled manpower.
