Congress sees prospects of early Assembly poll

Mangalore, Sep 14: Predicting early elections to the State Assembly the Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) President Mr Mallikarjuna Kharge, has exhorted the party members to work in unison for the success in the September-28 elections to the local bodies.

Launching the party's campaign for the coming local bodies elections here today the KPCC president Mr Kharge has said that the party had won all the previous elections including Village, Taluk and Zilla Panchayaths and expressed confidence that it would fare better in the coming local bodies elections also.

Launching a broadside attack on the coalition government Mr Kharge informed that the people of the state have fed-up with most corrupt regime in the state which had witnessed large scale corruption, incompetence governance and fake promises made by coalition government.

Openioning that due to its own weight the present coalition government would collapse even before October 2, Mr Kharge exhorted the party workers to ready to face another round of elections for the Karnataka assembly.

Union minister of state Mr Oscar Fernandes, who also spoke on the occasion has informed that the UPA government has taken several steps to generate employment opportunities in the country. "The Government has taken initiative to upgrade the existing ITI's across the country to scale up skilled manpower" he said.

Former Karnataka Chief Minister Mr N Dharam Singh, Rajyasabha member Mr Janardhana Poojary, Chairman, Central Administrative Reforms Commission Mr Veerappa Moily also addressed the party workers.
