Asif helps Pakistan restrict India to 141-9

By Staff

DURBAN, Sep 14 (Reuters) Pakistan paceman Mohammad Asif took four wickets to restrict India to a total of 141 for nine in their Twenty20 World Cup match today.

Robin Uthappa top-scored with 50 after India were put in to bat.

Asif, who finished with figures of four for 18, reduced India to 36 for four before Uthappa and Mahendra Singh Dhoni steadied the innings with a fifth-wicket stand of 46.

Fast bowler Yasir Arafat had Dhoni caught by Younis Khan at long-off for 33 in the last over.

If India triumph, both teams will advance to the second round.

Should Pakistan win and India emerge with a net run-rate worse than Scotland's, India will be knocked out.
