Allahabad
High
Court
has
accepted
the
decision
and
resolution
of
the
committee
headed
by
Director
State
Raj
Vigyan
Sansthan,
which
said
there
was
no
need
for
any
separate
school
subject
for
enlightening
the
students
about
AIDS.
The committee said information about the disease was already included in various subjects such as home science, biology, and chemistry.
The report assured that it could always be supplemented with further details in the aforesaid subjects.
The court opined that ''such education at a tender age is not going to serve the purpose and rather it may prove counter productive and may have adverse impact on the students between the ages of nine to 12 years''.
Justice S N Srivastava passed this order on a writ petition filed by Iqbal Hussain and others.
The court with the above observations disposed of the writ petition.
