Bangalore, Sep 13 (UNI) Spice Telecom, the quality and innovative service provider of Karnataka, is continuously striving in associating itself with social causes as part of its corporate social responsibility.

One such initiative has been to associate with Parikrma, a free school for underprivileged children living in 26 slums of the city.

Spice today distributed 850 umbrellas to the children of Parikrama.

The umbrella had been a symbolic extension to Spice's 'Jaasti Coverage' (more coverage) campaign where Spice has taken coverage beyond just network coverage into the realm of providing rain shelters to the children of Parikrma.

Speaking on the occasion, Rakesh Singh, Senior VP, Operations, Spice Telecom said, "Through our Helping Hand initiative, we have tried to provide these children with the little comforts that are very important to them. Sure these umbrellas would not revolutionize their lives but, at least they would make sure they reach their school in relative comfort." Mr Singh said Spice, currently available in two circles -- Punjab and Karnataka, had a base of over 2 million subscribers.
