Minister gets six-month jail against Mines Safety Act violation
Rajsamand, Rajasthan, Sep 13 (UNI) A local court has handed down a six-month jail term to Minister of state for Water Resources Surendra Singh Rathore for violating the Mines Safety Act in the mines owned by his family.
Judicial Magistrate (First) Ranbir Mirdha pronounced the judgment against Rathore on Tuesday on a petition filed by the Mines Safety Inspector in 2003. The court also slapped a fine of Rs 2000 on him.
However, it allowed Rathore to file an appeal against the judgement.
