New Delhi, Sep 13 (UNI) Light rains hit Delhi again this evening, even as cool West NorthWesterly winds continued to maintain pleasant weather in the city for the fourth consecutive day.

The light showers, which lashed the city at around 1930 hrs, followed another pleasant day in Delhi wherein West Northwesterlies brought about a coolness in the atmosphere.

The maximum temperature today fell to 34.2 Degrees Celsius, from 35 Degrees C yesterday while the minimum fell to 24.4 Degrees C, one degree below normal.

Today's rainfall followed short bursts of moderate showers earlier this week, which brought down the mercury to normal or near normal levels, providing respite from heat and humidity for Delhiites.

Weatherman attributes the cool weather in Delhi and the showers to the influence of a low pressure area over North-west Bay of Bengal, which they say could lead to more such showers in the next few days.

''The current scenario suggests subdued rainfall activity over Northwest India during the next 4-5 days,'' the weatherman said.

The Met ofice has forecast a partly cloudy sky in Delhi during the next 24 hours with thundry development in a few areas.
