Surat, Sep 13 (UNI) Chief Minister Narendra Modi today said the government has provided Rs 15,000 crore for the tribal welfare project in Gujarat.
Addressing a Tribal Welfare' programme organised here, Mr Modi said the aim of the project was not election-specific but was started much earlier in March.
He said the government has arranged for educational facilities to the tribal girls and has even filled the posts of teachers by appointing 20,000 tribal girls and boys for these posts.
He said the government will open new ITI institutes in the tribal areas -- from Umarpada to Ambaji. The students could earn while learning.
