Govt to encourage schemes beneficial to people: CM

Puducherry, Sep 13 (UNI) Puducherry Chief Minister N Rangasamy today said the administration would encourage any scheme, which would be beneficial to the people of Union Territory.

Inaugurating the new administrative building and laboratory of the Pondicherry Biotech Industry here, Mr Rangasamy said the schemes should generate employment opportunities for the locals.

It was the duty and responsibility of the researchers to come out with schemes beneficial to the people, he said.

Speaking on the occasion, Pondicherry Biotech Scienfic Advisory Committee Member Prof A R Reddy said the company was taking up some research in bio-technology with the help of Puducherry Administration.

Puducherry Industries Minister V Vaithilingam, former Puducherry Chief Minister R V Janakiraman attended the function.
