Bangalore, Sep 13 (UNI) The liquidity crisis triggered globally due to Subprime issues in the United States is having a ripple effect on all global economies.
CII Karnataka will organise a conclave on ''Subprime Crisis in the US and its impact on India and other emerging markets'' here on October five.
What was initially seen as a US phenomenon, the subprime issues has slowly spread to rest of the global markets. The investors were re-evaluating their risk appetite and broadly repricing their risks.
There was a crisis of confidence in the global markets and this was seen more as liquidity-cum-credit risk across the market place, CII said in a release here.
Unlike China, India's growth was mostly domestic led, and was considered to be insulated from the global events. However, today, Indian economy was fully integrated with the global markets and any major events affecting the global markets would have repercussions in India as well.
The conclave would attempt to understand the impact of the US Subprime crisis on India and other emerging markets. This would give an overview on the state of the global financial markets and the way forward, the release added.
The conclave would also focus on FII flows and capital markets in India, Hedge funds and private equity funds.
