New Delhi, Sep 13 (UNI) Information and Broadcasting Minister Priya Ranjan Dasmunsi today said his Ministry would take suitable action against Live India television channel for airing a fake sting operation showing a school teacher force students into prostitution.

Action would be taken after receiving the channel's reply to the Ministry's show-cause notices, Mr Dasmunsi told reporters.

The Ministry was yet to receive the Delhi High Court order, asking the Ministry to prosecute the channel by filing a criminal case, he said.

He said he would hold a meeting later today with the legal and other top officials of his Ministry to discuss the issue.

The show-cause notices were issued under the Cable Television Regulation Act. One notice pertained to the channel changing its name from 'Janmat TV' to Live India TV without taking the Ministry's permission and the other to the fake sting operation.

Delhi Police has subsequently given a clean chit to accused the school teacher after the court observed that she was rather a victim of the sting operation.
