3-day ACRSICON in Ahmedabad from Sep 14

Ahmedabad, Sep 13 (UNI) The 30th national conference of the Association of Colon and Rectum Surgeons of India ''ACRSICON 2007'' will be held here from September 14 to 16.

Over 400 surgeons from across the country will participate in the conference, ACRSICON chairman Dr Ajay Munshi told reporters here yesterday.

The conference will be inaugurated at the hands of Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad director Dr Bakul Dholakia, Dr Munshi said adding that a DVD on ''Atlas of laparoscopic procedures'' will also be released on the occasion.

The theme of this year's conference is ''Newer Frontiers in Colorectal Surgery''.

Apart from around 50 eminent national faculties, five expert international faculties from countries like USA, South Korea, Kenya and Sri Lanka will also share their expertise and experience at the conference, Dr Munshi said.

Organising secretary Dr Sanjiv Haribhakti said workshops on endosuturing and GI stapling, stoma care, scientific communication and laparoscopic training for nurses have also been planned during the conference.

The main conference shall have live surgery workshop, Dr Haribhakti said.

The conference will be preceded by a three-day advanced instructional course.
