Bhopal, Sep 12 (UNI) The Madhya Pradesh government-run Kailashnath Katju Hospital Superintendent Asha Tiwari has been suspended and an inquiry ordered into a matter related to a woman who delivered baby at the hospital gate.
Twenty-six-year-old Meena, a resident of the local Banganga area, was brought to the hospital after experiencing labour pain. The woman and her kin alleged that doctors demanded money for admission and non-payment resulted the refusal of entry to the hospital.
Following the refusal, Meena delivered a baby at the gate itself.
However, Meena was later admitted to the hospital.
State Health Minister Ajay Vishnoi, who arrived here this morning, headed straight for the hospital from the airport and met the affected family.
''The woman is admitted at Kailashnath Katju Hospital. Both mother and infant are fine,'' said Divisional Joint Director (Health Services) B N Chouhan who is in-charge of the probe. The official said that he would submit his report to seniors by late evening.
