VHP activists protest over Sethu Project

Shimla, Sep 12 (UNI) Sangh Parivar activists disrupted road and rail traffic across Himachal Pradesh today against the Centre's decision to go ahead with the Sethusamudram project.

The VHP, Bajrang Dal, BJP and activists of other affiliated organisations blocked traffic at Victory Tunnel here for about 30 minutes and other important places in the state in support of their demands.

Reports reaching here said several vehicles were stranded on the Shimla-Kalka and on the Shimla-Dharamshala National Highways for a few hours due to the agitation, which caught people unawares.

However, there was no report of violence from any part of the state during the agitation.

Reports of Sangh Parivar activists holding protests at all district headquarters and several other areas of the state were also received.
