Police driver dies as his hand chopped off
Pathalgaon, Chhattisgarh, Sep 12 (UNI) A police driver died in the wee hours today after his right hand was chopped off at Jashpur district's Kharkatta village by a resident vexed over the driver allegedly generating pandemonium, police said.
Shankar Yadav, who was employed at Pathalgaon Police Station, was habituated to throwing his weight around in the village. Yadav recently made a murderous assault also on a trader.
While he was creating chaos at Kharkatta yesterday, villagers tried to calm him but in vain. Agitated over by the chaos, Shubhram, a villager, chopped off Yadav's hand to vent his ire.
The driver was later admitted to the Pathalgaon Health Centre where he succumbed.
