Medical practitioner gets lifer for murder
Kolhapur, Sep 12 (UNI) A local court today sentenced a medical practitioner to life imprisonment for committing a murder in 1998.
Additional district sessions judge S P Kulkarani found Dr Prakash Bandivadekar guilty under section 302 of the IPC and awarded the sentence.
According to the prosecution, on June 1, 1998, a group, led by Dr Bandivadekar of Nagnwadi village, had shot dead Namdev Bandivadekar at a rest house in Chandgad tehsil of the district over an old fued.
After the murder, Dr Bandivadekar was absconding and later he surrendered before Ujjain Police on December 10, 2005.
A total of 15 people stood as witnesses in this case.
