Man accused of murdering 13 drivers and stealing cars arrested

Howrah, Sep 12 (UNI) Police have arrested a man accused of murdering 13 drivers before stealing their cars from the upmarket localities of Kolkata and Howrah.

Howrah Superintendent of Police (SP) Niraj Kumar Singh said here today that Pramod Singh, who was nabbed at Gaya yesterday, had allegedly killed the drivers and fled with their vehicles during 2004-2007.

The accused had earlier been arrested in 2005 in connection with a petrol pump dacoity. However, he managed to escape from the Dasnagar police lock-up, the SP added.

He admitted to murdering around five of the drivers, Mr Singh said.

One of his accomplices, Santosh singh, was also arrested, the SP said adding that investigation was on in the matter.
