Shimla, Sep 12(UNI) Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Virbhadra Bhadra Singh today said Kalka-Shimla road will soon be four laned and construction work between Kalka to Solan would be taken up in first phase and Solan-Shimla in the second phase.
Addressing a public meeting at Junga near here after inaugurating the new Civil Hospital building here said, necessary modalities were being worked out expeditiously to start the construction work.
Mr Singh said Himachal Pradesh was spending a sum of Rs 4000 crore on road construction during the current financiala year to connect village with an moterable road.
An ambitious Rs 400 crore, Dr Rajendra Prasad Government Medical College Kangra at Tanda was ready and its inauguration was likely during the month,he said .
The Chief Minister said his government has initiated steps to check corruption at all levels after it took over the reins of the state in March, 2003 and strict action would be taken against the guilty. The Government was committed to eradicate corruption from the state and provide a corrupt free, transparent and an efieient administration, he said .
The Himachal Pradesh Government has created 80,000 employment avenues in Government sector alone , while 3.70 lakh such avenues had been created in iindustrial sector where 70 per cent emplployment to local people had been made mandatory, he said.
Mr Singh announced the upgradation of Civil Hospital , Junga , indoor patient capacity to 50 bedded hosital and said medical specialists and other para medical staff would be deployed to make it functional .
The new hospital would be capable to deliver patients, specialized mdeical services near to their homes, while additional medical facilities were available at Shimla,he said. He also announced the upgradation of Government High School, Shakroh to Government Senior Secondary School which would be made functional with immediate effect.
