Jana Sangh demands national holiday on Vishwakarma Puja
Kolkata, Sep 12 (UNI) The Akhil Bharatiya Jana Sangh has demanded that Vishwakarma Puja be recognised as a national holiday as well as national labour day.
The Convenor of the Jana Sangh, Kolkata Pradesh, Shanti Lal Jain, in a faxed message to President Pratibha Patil today urged her to ensure that the Central Government declare Vishwakarma Puja as national labour day as people regarded the deity as an inventor of all hnologies and to whom all Indians irrespective of religion, caste and creed paid obeisance on the day.
The day should also be declared as a national holiday, Mr Jain demanded.
