HC asks Bengal gov to file affidavit on arrest of 3 Bangladeshis
Kolkata, Sep 12 (UNI) Calcutta High Court today directed the West Bengal government to file an affidavit on the arrest of three Bangladeshi nationals who alleged that their travel documents had been seized by police.
The two-judge bench, presided by Chief Justice S S Nijjar, issued the direction on a petition filed by one of the bangladeshis Biplab Rehman.
Rehman alleged that the police harassed them though they possessed valid poassports and other travel documents.
He prayed before the court for a direction on the government for handing over the travel documents to them at the earliest.
