Gowda to meet top BJP leaders on Transfer of power
Bangalore, Sep 12 (UNI) Former Prime Minister and Janata Dal (S) national President H D Deve Gowda today ruled out the possibility of his party joining hands with Congress to form in Karnataka.
Speaking to newsmen, Mr Gowda hinted that his party would hand over power to Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) to continue the development works initiated by Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy.
However, Mr Gowda reiterated that the transfer of power would be formalised only after holding talks with top BJP leaders including Mr A B Vajpayee, Mr L K Advani and Mr Rajnath Singh at New Delhi.
"There is a need for seeking clarification on certain issues with the top BJP brass at New Delhi before effecting transfer of power" he added.
he said that JD(S) would fight the September 28 elections to the Local bodies on its own and will have no truck with any political parties including BJP. "The party would stick its policy of keeping both Congress and BJP at equal distance" he added.
He said that the outcome of local body elections cannot be considered as referendum on the JD(S)-BJP coalition government since the elections were fought on local issues.
