Congress leader's son remanded in judicial custody
Hyderabad, Sep 12 (UNI) Senior Congress leader K Keshava Rao's son Venkat Rao, arrested in connection with the death of his business partner Prashant Reddy on Sunday last, was remanded in 14 days judicial custody by a city court today.
Realtor Venkat Rao, against whom a murder case was registered on a complaint from the parents of Reddy, was produced before the Third Chief Metropolitan Magistrate, who remanded the former to judicial custody till September 26.
Later, Venkat Rao was shifted to the Chenchelguda Jail.
Mr Keshav Rao, MP, who had submitted his resignation as Pradesh Congress chief to Congress President Sonia Gandhi, had claimed that it was a suicide, while Reddy's family members contended that it was a murder.
Mr Rao, who is member of the Upper House of Parliament, had maintained that he had resigned from the post of state party president to facilitate a ''free, fair and impartial probe'' into the incident.
