Jaipur, Sep 12 (UNI) Gujjar Reservation Action Committee Convenor Col Kirodi Singh Bainsla has sent a reply to the state government's letter virtually clearing decks for extension of term to Chopra Committee examining the Gujjar community's demand of inclusion in the ST list.
In the letter sent today to the government, Col Bainsla has stated that the issue of extension of term to Justice Jasraj Chopra Committee has to be decided by the government and his action committee has no locus standi in the matter.
Col Bainsla said that decision for extending the term of the committee was the prerogative of the state government and the Gujjar action committee only wanted that recommendations in favour of the community's demand should be made at the earliest.
Col Bainsla's reply came after a dialogue held between him and the state government's representatives-BJP Treasurer and sitting MP Ramdas Agrawal and party General Secretary Om Mathur--till this forenoon.
Now the state government is contemplating issuance of notification by tonight for extension of term to three member Justice Chopra committee whose three months' term expires today.
