Karachi, Sep 12: Pakistan People"s Party chairperson Benazir Bhutto has filed a petition in the Sindh High Court seeking permission to import a bullet-proof vehicle. She and her family are constantly threatened by extremists, so keeping security requirements in view, this import was necessary, Bhutto stated in her petition.
Bhutto has already applied to the Federal Interior Secretary and the Sindh Home Secretary – the respondents – for permission to import a bullet-proof vehicle.
The respondents did not even reply to her request, she stated.
She said it was her legal right to import such a car under the Customs Act of 1969. Therefore, the respondents should be told to issue the import permit.
