Vice-President extends greetings on Rakshabandhan

New Delhi, Aug 27 (UNI) Vice-President Mohammad Hamid Ansari today greeted the people of the country on the auspicious occasion of Rakshabandhan which reminds ''us of the enduring importance of the brother-sister relationship in our family and social structures in this day and age." In his message, Mr Ansari said, " Rakshabandhan is celebrated across the country by tying of 'rakhis' around the wrists of brothers by sisters, thus strengthening the bonds of love and affection.'' The festival would be celebrated across the country on August 28.

The Vice-President hoped that this festival would foster the true spirit of love, goodwill and compassion in the society.
