Chandigarh, Aug 27 (UNI) Taking strong exception to the decision of Ahulana village panchayat in Sonepat District to boycott a particular Kumhar community, People for Animals (PFA) Haryana chairman Naresh Kadyan today urged the National Human Rights Commission to take action in the matter.

In a letter to NHRC Secretary General, Mr Kadyan said the Panchayat' resolution to boycott the Kumhar community and their animals was a ''clear cut violation'' of the human rights along with the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act.

He urged the NHRC to direct the DC/SP Sonepat to lodge an FIR against the offenders so that the social status of the victims could be restored.

All the animals of the victims must be given protection, food, treatment and care, he added.
