Patna, Aug 27 (UNI) JD(U) National General Secretary Shivanand Tiwari today alleged that RJD president Lalu Prasad has amended the party's constitution to strengthen his hold over the organisation.

Mr Tiwari told mediapersons here that with the amendment Mr Prasad had captured all powers within the party and had became the chairman of its parliamentary board.

''This indicates that Mr Prasad position in the party was not as strong as it was earlier and he was losing his hold,'' he reiterated adding that such amendments were unprecedented in the party history.

Mr Prasad had recently made a provision of 11-member high level body, under his chairmanship, above the national executive committee to nominate all members of the new body, he maintained.

Mr Tiwari rubbished Mr Prasad's concern for minorities saying that,''He never cared for their interest and instead tried to protect the accused of the infamous Bhagalpur riot.'' The resolution adopted by the national convention of RJD for implementation of the recommendations of the Sachchar Committee was just like 'shedding crocodile tears', he remarked.
