Jammu, Aug 27 (UNI) After Khir Bhawani, hundreds of pilgrims from different migrant camps and colonies of Jammu left for pilgrimage to the ancient holy cave-temple of Lord Shiva at Thajiwara Bijbehara in South Kashmir this morning.

Thajiwara annual Yatra and festival, according to a release of Devaasthan Prabandak Committee (DPC) Bijbehara, is being revived after a gap of 18 years on the eve of "Shravan Puranmashi" tomorrow.

Under the auspices of DPC, this Yatra has the same religious sanctity and significance as that of Amarnath cave pilgrimage.

All the Pandits of Kashmir have hailed the efforts of the Managing Committee of DPC for taking initiative for revival and restoration of one of the most sacred shrines of Kashmir.

The Managing Committee has been striving for inclusion of Thajiwara shrine in the category of pilgrim tourism spots of Jammu and Kashmir.

The Managing Committee has also appreciated the co-operation extended by representatives, district and tehsil administrations, President of Municipal Committee Bijbehara and the local people for providing necessary facilities for the yatris.
