Italian embassy worker found dead under mysterious circumstances

New Delhi, Aug 27 (UNI) A 20-year-old worker of the Italian Embassy was today found dead under mysterious circumstances in the swimming pool of the embassy in Chanakyapuri area of New Delhi.

Dwarka-resident Devendra, a contractual employee who worked as a pump operator in the water harvesting section of the embassy under a private contractor, was found dead in the swimming pool at about 0730 hrs, police sources said.

''He had started working with the contractor, Vinay Kumar, about four months back,'' the sources added.

While the police have registered a case and investigating the matter, family members of the deceased have alleged that he had been murdered by the contractor.

''Just a couple of days back he had a bitter fight with him over his salary,'' they said.

Sources said there were marks of electrocution on his hand which has aroused suspicion.
