Mumbai, Aug 27 (UNI) The Working Committee of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) will meet in new Delhi on September 13 to discuss 'important matters' of the cricket board, sources here said.
The sources however, were tight-lipped about the agenda for the meeting which is unusual to be held just a fortnight before the AGM in Mumbai on September 28 and less than a month after the Working Committee's previous sitting, followed by two Special AGMs here on August 21.
''The full agenda is yet to be prepared but the meeting has been convened to discuss some important matters,'' the sources added.
The Working Committee will meet 23 days after the board threw out Kapil Dev from the chairmanship of its National Cricket Academy over his links with Subhash Chandra's Essel Group-floated Indian Cricket League.
The BCCI also decided to ban all those who join or had joined the ICL from taking part in the board's activities.
Stung by the board's decision against Kapil who is heading its Executive Board, and the others who have joined it, the ICL has moved to Delhi High Court seeking to restrain the Board from 'intimidating'' its players and interfering in its affairs.
