Scattered rains increase humidity in Rajasthan

Jaipur, July 27 (UNI) Intermittent rains in Rajasthan continue in Kota, Bharatpur and Ajmer divisions increasing the already high humidity levels.

According to weather department, Anta tehsil in Baran district of Kota division received 40 mm rain and Shahbad tehsil received 30 mm in the last 24 hours.

Sapotra tehsil in Karauli district of Bharatpur division received 20 mm rain, Sapau Badi 10, Gangapur in Sawai Madhopur district received 10 and Kekri tehsil in Ajmer district received 10 mm and other areas received 9 to 5 mm rans.

The sky in state capital remained partly cloudy but did not rain, the weather remained hot and humid throughout the day. At least big and medium size 77 dams are filled.

In the last two days, the rains occured due to western disturbance and at least five people died due to lightening.

With these, the total number of rain-related deaths in the state has reached 53.

The meteorological department says the second phase of monsoon has not yet begin and these rains are a result of the western disturbance.

It has forecast scattered rains in some parts of eastern Rajasthan over the next 24 hours.
